ARTIST STATEMENT:
1.) This vessel is a first try, and very rough interpretation of a pinch pot. It has a somewhat square shape, and is rough around the edges which adds to the overall texture of the body of the vessel. This vessel is also fairly small and would be used to contain small objects. 2.) Shape was the main element used in this vessel, as it has a square lip and the body follows a general 4 side shape. It is fairly minimalist as it doesn't have much in the way of texture, or form. 3.) As I made this Vessel, I was generally thinking about how it as going to be shaped, and what I would use to shape it. The only tool used to shape this vessel was my hands. The purpose of this vessel is to hold small items such as loose change, keys, or, once glazed, a snack like candy. 4.)I do not like this vessel because it is not symmetrical, and is too rough of a texture fr it to look pleasing. I was not successfulin shaping some of the edges because they are uneven and lopsided. I was able to accomplish as square-ish shape, but it is overall not something I would keep.
